BYD AUTO is a subsidiary of the BYD Company Ltd., which was first announced in 1995 when its staff was only 30 people. 8 years later it became the second-largest manufacturer of rechargeable batteries in the world and in the same 2003 company took a firm position in the automotive industry by acquiring Sichuan automobile company. Currently, the total number of employees in BYD Company Ltd. about 40,000 people working in BYD’s branches around the world, and its market value is worth over 15 billion HK dollars. At the beginning BYD was set up in Shenzhen and now headquarter of the firm and its main production base for manufacturing of batteries are located in this city.

Since its establishment, the company BYD AUTO, engaged in research, experimental development and production of electromotives and cars with explosion engines and hybrid power plants has steadily followed the path of development in accordance with generally accepted international standards. To meet the growing demand for automotive products and relying on an unprecedented technological and financial assistance of the parent BYD corporation, at the same time BYD AUTO extensively use rich experience in the international automotive industry. All of it allowed BYD to become indivisible well-balanced and highly effective enterprise.

In November 2003 in Shenzhen was established the BYD Automobile Trade Ltd. company for sale of BYD cars.

The Beijing branch of BYD Mold Company Ltd is one of the largest centers of molding and casting in China. It covers an area equal to 270,000 square meters. The company employs are highly qualified and experienced professionals. The total number of workers and employees of the company amounts to 600 people, including 140 engineers and 350 skilled workers.
