  • CRF 1000L Africa Twin.

Honda unveiled the celebrated CRF 1000L Africa Twin in Europe for the first time at EICMA. This adventure-tourer motorcycle is powered by a 998-cc parallel twin engine that draws heavily on Honda’s CRF 250 and 450 competition machines and uses the same four-valve Unicam head design. While the standard Africa Twin is available with a six-speed manual gearbox, there are two more versions to be had. The first features ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which controls the amount of torque going to the wheel and, in doing so, prevents or allows wheelspin. The last variant of the Africa Twin features Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) that was first seen on the VFR 1200F. Unlike on the sports tourer, however, on the Africa Twin, the DCT has also been programmed to function off-road. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely at the moment that the CRF 1000L Africa Twin will head to India anytime soon, but there’s no harm in hoping, is there?
  • 959 Panigale.

The 959 Panigale is the latest superbike to join the Ducati arsenal. Featuring a new 157-PS 955-cc liquid-cooled twincylinder engine, the 959 Panigale fills the gap between the 899 Panigale and the Panigale R in terms of engine displacement. The bike shares the same innovative and state-of-the-art technologies as the 1299 Panigale but is designed for a more enjoyable everyday experience along with the thrills of a good thrashing session around a racetrack.
  • Citroen e-mehari ReVealed.

Following the unveiling of the Cactus-M concept at the Frankfurt motor show last September, harking back to the original Mйhari from 1968, Citroen has revealed plans to launch a plastic bodied all-electric four-seat cabriolet called the E-Mйhari. Born out of a partnership with France’s Bollorй Group, the new car will be made at the Rennes factory in Northern France and go on sale next Spring. However, there are no plans to sell it here in the UK, with France the main target audience where there are tax breaks and incentives for these kinds of vehicles. The E-Mйhari has a top speed of 68mph, with a maximum range of approximately 125 miles. Charging takes up to 13 hours using a domestic plug socket, and because the battery pack utilises Lithium Metal Polymer (LMP) technology and are classed as ‘dry’ batteries, they aren’t weather sensitive and don’t have the range fluctuation that many modern electric cars suffer with during harsher weather conditions.
