Interesting News
  • PorsChe Goes tesla HUntinG.

The green light has been given to the Porsche Mission E project, following overwhelming response to its debut at the Frankfurt motor show last September. Due to be launched at the end of the decade, the newcomer will be the first 100 per cent electrically powered Porsche in the company’s history. More than 10,000 jobs will be created in Stuttgart, with in excess of half a billion pounds set to be invested, including a new assembly line and paint shop. The current engine factory will be expanded to allow production of electric motors, and the company’s research and development in Weissach will see extra cash ploughed into it. If the production car remains true to the motor show concept car, it will be a four-door, four-seat vehicle, with a maximum power output of more than 590bhp. Acceleration to 62mph will be under 3.5 seconds, and the car will have a driving range of more than 500 miles. It’s intended that the battery pack will be rechargeable back up to 80 per cent of its capacity in just 15 minutes, using a specially developed 800- volt charger unit. Wireless inductive charging will also be an optional extra.
  • 2016 KTM 690 Duke.

Just in case the last version didn’t already put your motorcycle license at risk, KTM has updated its ever-entertaining 690 Duke with a smoother, more powerful engine and updated electronics package that includes a supermoto mode, as well as traction control (optional) and riding modes. The single-cylinder engine gets the most important updates and now features a larger bore and shorter stroke. This, in conjunction with a new cylinder head and second balancer shaft, combines to give the engine not only 7 percent more horsepower and 6 percent more torque but also make it less prone to vibration when running down the highway. Throw in a more comfortable two-piece seat, updated triple clamps with revised offset for better handling, and new TFT display, and you have a bike that could give the other middleweight naked bikes a run for their money.
  • Multistrada 1200 Enduro.

Ducati themselves describe the Multistrada as their “multi-bike”, their attempt at classifying this adventure tourer as the ultimate multi-purpose two-wheeler. It is powered by a liquidcooled 1,198.4-cc L-twin with 160 PS and 136 Nm on tap. At EICMA, Ducati not only showcased the regular Multistrada 1200 and Multistrada 1200 S, there was also the new Multistrada 1200 Enduro and a brilliant Multistrada Pikes Peak version (the last, of course, in homage to the legendary hill climb race held in America).
