Holden

Holden

Australian automotive company is a subsidiary of General Motors Corporation. It produces several brands of cars, including Opel, Astra and Vectra. It was Holden who produced the first car in Australia.

Since 1926, Holden is a member of General Motors Australia. The company history began in 1856 with the opening of "JA Holden & Co" plant in Adelaide by James Holden. In 1918 this plant was transformed in "Holden & Frost" body works. Production of Holden brand cars began in 1930 after merging of Holden and GMA into General Motors-Holden's.

The company currently produces finished Opel Astra and Opel Vectra models and Pontiac Grand Prix cars.

A novelty of the company's is a Holden Torana TT36 concept car.
