Mitsubishi is one of the greatest corporations of Japan in automobile production.

Mitsubishi company was founded by Yataro Iwasaki in 1873. Initially the company was involved in vessel building and repair. First car was issued in 1917 and associated with one of Ford models. There was no great demand on such type of cars and in 1921 "Model A" production was ceased. Next time Mitsubishi had launched production of heavy trucks and buses. In 1935 company designed and issued the first diesel Japanese bus.

After the Second World War company resumed production of buses and since 1947 they have been equipped with electric engines. In 1960 the company turned back to cars production and launched Mitsubishi 500 model. In 1970 it created the lines for production of Galant and Lancer models. These models exist in updated form up to the present day. In 1938 the company churns out a fitting of cars with electronic suspension system. Since 1982 famous Mitsubishi Pajero has been produced. In Russia it is widely known by modifications of 1991 and 2000 years.

At expansion of model line by 1998 Mitsubishi produces full range of cars. Since 1997 on participation of Dutch Ned Car joint venture, which was founded with Volvo assistance, front-driven Carisma is produced.

At the moment Mitsubishi produce full range of trucks and pickups but only light and medium trucks are exported to Europe.
